We are rounding out this year's collection of our Item-of-the-Month treasures with yet another remarkable selection from Horizon. Please take a good look at these photos - this wood has a lot going for it! The most obvious feature is the remarkable width. Stretching our tape out to an incredible 33 inches, this is the kind of width that we just don't see every day in WALNUT. But to make this group even more exciting, take a minute to really study the grain. It is clear and even, yet the figure in the upper 1/4 of the flitch bends and bows into some of the most interesting character to be found.

Some of the flitches maintain an unaltered raw edge, the wider pieces have been square edged. The collection is green now and available for immediate shipping, or if the buyer desires the wood to be kiln dried we will process it through our system. Because we have mainained a solid 2 inch (8/4) thickness in these flitches, the drying process will be done slowly and carefully. This selection, kiln dried, will be available for shipment sometime in March or April. This wood is too special to hurry, we want to baby it through the drying cycle to ensure maintaining its great quality.
