FIGURED CHERRY

August's "Item of the Month" features a super collection of 3/4 inch figured cherry all cut from the same tree.
The group contains 20 boards ranging in width from five to eleven inches and averaging about seven and a half feet in length for a total of 69.4 bf.
The character that makes this wood worthy of the special "Item of the Month" classification is the amazing figure... in an intensity that we seldom see,
but always appreciate!!

The chaotic nature of the figure in this selection adds to its appeal. There is some gum threaded through the pieces which contribute another point of interest to the wild curl. There are also a couple of knots which have been accounted for with reductions in measurement.
Differences in color in the above photos are simply the result changes in the camera settings, the color of the wood is actually very consistant across the boards. This is truly a spectacular collection of figured cherry that far exceeds the typical milder curl found in our specialty wood.
This group is wild, chaotic and intense - WOW!!
