As we suspected - this selection is a wood worker's dream! Didn't take long for it to earn a "SOLD" sign. Sorry, it is no longer available. It was one of those rare "Ahhhh-Haaaaa" moments in Horizon sawyer's booth. Our keen-eyed log buyer had put everyone on the alert...... he felt sure he had found a winner. When the time came to open up this mysteriously "special" log, everyone was gathered round in anticipation of what it just might reveal to us. Cameras at the ready. A collective intake of breath as the first slice was made. (Is there any doubt that we, at Horizon, get excited about our wood?) WHAT A WINNER IT IS!!!! We can't think of enough adjectives to describe it!

Take a good look at this beauty as it is dogged on the carriage, and note its bookmatched-mate laying on the outfeed roll case. This is figure at its finest!!

| The only defects to be found on this nearly perfect specimen are the knots near the pith of flitches 4 and 7. This is one of nature's works, after all. Nothing is 100% perfect! This selection is being carefully prepared for the drying process. Call to inquire about when it will be available for shipping. |

What Luck!! We actually stumbled across a second prize winning figured cherry log this month. We offer it here, more of the finest from Pennsylvania's forests. Another ***** selection with great widths and minimal defects. Take a look at this beauty!.

This spread of nearly perfect flitches contains some dandy figure. About the only defect to be found is a small grown-over scar near the base of the tree that is visible in pieces 3,4 and 7. |

As can be seen in the photos, the figure in this log is a bit more chaotic than the mezmerizing, uniform waves found in our first selection of the month. This log's figure is a tight wave pattern on one half and progresses to a haphazard figure in the second half. Very nice! |
