Three of the four features this month are in Walnlut, but we've included one Hard Maple set with some figure so extreme we just had to throw it in too.

Figured Walnut - Set 241312 - Eye Popping
Walnut - wonderful wood. Here's some mighty impressive walnut figure that really POPS! This set came from one of those logs that we felt had good potential for opening up to reveal figure, but we weren't prepared for the spectacular sight we encountered with the first cut. Mouth dropping, exciting stuff! Please enlarge the pics to get a better feel of what this powerful selection has to offer.

Figured Walnut - Set 111254X - Fine Fiddleback
This set is super, only a few scattered knots on the center cuts. Really nice fiddleback curl, even and consistent all over each piece. Boards 2 and 6 surfaced on one face to show how sweet it is. This collection reminds us of Larry Bird, not flashy and bold but very even and gets the job done with style.

Wow, the figure in this set looks great, and the quality is near perfect. There are a few knots near the central slabs (pcs 3, 4, and 5), but the rest of the set is completely clear. Not much to say about this set except "wow-oh-wow"!

Figured Hard Maple - Set 225099 - Extreme Figure - Oh so sweet!
This just may be the most intense set of figured maple we have ever had here at HORIZON.
It has been hit or miss surfaced on both faces and it is still a full 1 1/8" thick. This wood is so figured even the growth rings are wiggly, it looks almost quilted. Check out this sweet little set, the photo on the right shows the visibility of the figure, even on the edges of the flitch. Curl is so tight it would dazzle your project, even in the dark!
